ITA or Individual Training Account is a Scottish Government Initiative to assist the unemployed and low earners to develop their skills to improve their job prospects.

The next round of funding starts on 1st July 2020 and has an allocation of 14,000 applications. The funding will expire on 31st October 2020 if the 14,000 target hasn’t been met. In light of the Coronavirus pandemic we don’t expect the funding to last until the expiry date so the sooner you secure your funding allocation, the sooner you can be sure of your training opportunity.

If you qualify for the scheme, Skills Development Scotland will contribute up to £200 towards the cost of learning to drive a forklift for example.

More information on the ITA funding is available on the Skills Development Scotland website.

There are certain criteria that you will need to satisfy in order to be eligible:

If you answer yes to all these questions then you could qualify. Visit the My World of Work website and search ‘Alba Forklift Training’ to apply for one of the courses we run.

Applying for a course is simple:

  2. Answer a series of questions to see if you qualify
  3. If you qualify, provide some contact details
  4. Contact us to see what dates are available for the course you’re interested in
  5. We’ll make arrangements for you to provide us with proof of eligibility and to pay a deposit to secure your place (which is refundable on the day of your course is the ITA grant covers the cost)

If you can’t find the course you’re interested in or if you’re not sure if you qualify then please contact us and we’ll help you through the process.
