Novice Training Courses are 3-5 day courses aimed at candidates who have never driven forklifts before. They are designed to teach the basic skills which are necessary to operate the lift truck safely and form the foundation for future conversion training courses.
They can also be conducted over a shorter duration, if, for example they are conducted on a 1:1 basis.
Our forklift operator courses can be conducted on-site or at our training centre in Cumbernauld.
Our courses are accredited by RTITB providing assurances of the highest quality of training standards.
Our training centre is Learning Direct Approved and our courses qualify for funding.
We provide 4 basic courses:
Although our training centre in Cumbernauld offers Counterbalance, Reach, Bendi and Telescopic Lift Truck Training courses we also provide on-site/in-house forklift training on the following types of fork lift trucks:
Experienced Operator Training Courses are 2-3 day courses aimed at candidates who have driven forklifts before but have never had the benefit of formal training or were taught in-house and need to expand their forklift skills to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
They are designed to improve existing skills and to teach some of the skills not already acquired with experience.
Refresher Training Courses are ½ to 1 day courses aimed at candidates who have sat a formal training course at some point in the past but now need to refresh their skills. The HSE recommend that these courses are sat every 3-5 years and prospective employers will expect to see a current refresher certificate when applying for a job.
These courses are easily conducted part time in the evenings, typically being 4½ hour courses conducted on a 1:1 basis.
It is possible to combine refresher courses, Counterbalance and Reach for example, and sit both truck refreshers at the same time.
ILA funding will cover the cost of refresher training and the majority of multiple refresher training courses.
Conversion Training Courses are 1-2 day courses aimed at candidates who already hold a forklift qualification but want to expand their skills base by learning to drive a different lift truck category, for example converting to Reach or Bendi Lift Truck from Counterbalance.
These courses are easily conducted part time over 2 evenings, typically being 7½ hour courses conducted on a 1:1 basis.
ILA funding will cover the cost of most of our conversion training courses.
