Our 1 day RTITB safety awareness course for managers and supervisors of forklift truck operators is designed to meet the requirements of the PUWER Regulations 1998 (Regulation 9B) and is suitable for:
The PUWER regulations require that managers and supervisors of forklift truck operators have received adequate training for purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods to be adopted when using forklift trucks, any risks that such use may entail and the precautions to be taken.
The HSC provides guidance in its revised Code of Practice (L117) on compliance with the Health and Safety Work Act and Regulation 9B of the PUWER Regulations:
‘The Health and Safety at Work Act requires you to provide adequate supervision. It is essential that supervisors have enough training and knowledge to recognise safe and unsafe practices. This does not mean they need full operator training, but they do need to understand the risks involved, and how to avoid or prevent them. Some organisations offer training courses for supervisors and managers of lift truck operations.’

At the end of the course each candidate is issued with an RTITB certificate of attendance.
