ITSSAR Instructor Re-examination / Re-sit Courses
This is a re-examination course accredited by ITSSAR and examined by Alba Forklift Training.
It is aimed at candidates who have sat the ITSSAR instructional examination but have failed or ‘referred’ on one of the 3 theoretical or 6 practical elements:
ITSSAR Theoretical Assessments:
- An employer's legal obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 to provide instruction, training, supervision and safe systems of work.
- Current recommendations for the basic training of operators.
- Instructional Techniques.
ITSSAR Practical Assessments:
- A Demonstration of operating skills (instructor standard) to the satisfaction of the course tutor.
- Prepare and present a classroom lesson to a group [minimum 15 minutes] on a subject nominated by the examiner using suitable visual aids and question and answer techniques.
- Conduct a practical demonstration.
- Conduct a practical lesson containing a minimum of 2 separate demonstrations to a group of 2 trainees.
- Construct and conduct a recognized test of basic operating skills on the equipment nominated.
- Write an end of training report on a trainee whose specification and the examiner will provide details.
Referred candidates wishing to re-sit must attend 1 of these courses within 3 months of referral. Referred candidates are limited to 2 attempts at ITSSAR re-examination in the 3 month period following their ITSSAR referral.
Candidates failing to achieve the pass criteria or attend a re-examination in the 3 month period will require to undertake a 5 Day ITSSAR Course and pass the 9 examinable elements again.
Our scheduled ITSSAR Instructor examination dates for 2018 are as follows:
- August
- December

If you have been unfortunate enough to have failed one of the practical elements of the ITSSAR test then this is the re-examination element you will have to attend.
The re-sit course is a 3 day course which will enable us to assess your instructional ability with particular reference to the referral notes issued by the Category 3 training organisation. Once we have addressed the issues raised by the ITSSAR training organisation we will assist you in preparing your examination lesson to ensure that any previous shortcomings have been addressed.
The cost of this course is £880 + VAT.
If you have been unfortunate enough to have failed the ITSSAR multiple choice or open theory tests then this is the re-examination element you will have to attend.
The re-sit course is a 1 day course which will enable us to assess your areas of weakness with reference to the referral notes issued by the Category 3 ITSSAR organisation. Once we have addressed the areas of weakness we can work through our instructor manual and sample question papers, to prepare you as much as possible for the theory re-sit.
The charge for attending this course is £180 + VAT regardless of where you sat your original course.
